  • Starbeam Reflex Finder with Flip Mirror (STARFMD)

Starbeam's unique flip mirror provides comfort and flexibility for viewing at any angle - from straight-through to 90 degrees. The mirror can be flipped into a more comfortable position when viewing with your telescope pointed high. The 39mm aperture lens features natural sky background with a superimposed red pointing "star." This "red-star" feature, because of its size, color, and adjustable brightness, makes it easy to spot against any variety of ambient background light.

The Starbeam is custom machined from aluminum and black anodized, even down to the thumb screws! Alignment is accomplished without tools. Also included (exclusively when purchased from Astro-Physics) is the Male Dovetail (A3251-B) to attach to our refractors via a quick release base (QRBASE or QRBASES-A) or sliding bars.

    Qwik-Point Reflex Finder (QWIKMD)

The compact, lightweight Qwik-Point is a great sighting companion for any small scope. It uses the same optical principle as the Starbeam; however, construction details, such as hard plastic components, reduce the price significantly. Qwik-Point can be used for both daytime spotting and nighttime star-hopping.

Astro-Physics also includes the Male Dovetail Base (A3251-B) in the price of this finder, to be used with either of our quick release bases (QRBASE or QRBASES-A) or sliding bars.

    Amici Erecting Prism Diagonal (APD125)

While star diagonals correct a refractor's inverted image, they don't address the left-right orientation issue, rendering them unsuitable for terrestrial viewing. An erecting prism achieves the desired effect of a natural view.

The 45 degree Amici Prism works best at moderate magnifications and can accept 1.25 inch eyepieces. Please note that due to the path length of this prism, it can not be used with barlows.
