Order New ROM Chip for GTOCP1 or GTOCP2 Control Box
Contact Astro-Physics by mail, phone, fax or e-mail.
If you are a resident of Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, or Japan.
You must contact the authorized
dealer in those countries.
We offer several options for your upgrade:
- You install the chip into the GTO
control box and download the keypad upgrade from our website. It is quite
easy to remove the old chip and install the new one, however you must be
very careful or the chip carrier could be damaged. Please read the accompanying
installation instructions for your control box. If you crack the chip carrier,
it will have to be sent to us for repair. Since there are many solder connections
and the repair is time consuming, there will be an additional repair charge.
If you are not sure that you can remove your current chip safely, please
choose one of the options below.
Over the last decade, many hundreds of chip upgrades have been
accomplished successfully by customers without any problems. Only a handful have been
sent in for repair.
- You send your GTO control box to us and we will install the chip. We return to you and you complete the keypad upgrade from our website.
- You send both the GTO control box and keypad to us and we do the complete upgrade.
Please call or e-mail Astro-Physics for further information and pricing. If you did not purchase the mount directly from us, please look for the serial number on your mount before you call.
400GTO and 600EGTO - The serial number is located on the underside of the base of the mount. Remove from your pier or tripod to see the number.
900GTO and 1200GTO – The serial number for our latest models are located on in the inside of the polar fork to the right side of the mount as you face the azimuth adjustor and in one of the cutout areas of the Declination axis, visible only when the RA and Dec axes are taken apart. Earlier models may have a serial number plate placed in one of the dovetail cutouts of the RA axis rather than on the polar fork. Bolted versions of the 1200GTO mount do not have a dovetail. You will likely find the serial number on the underside of the RA Polar Fork Assembly.
