The newly reimagined Astro-Physics Tri-Pier is our new support system enhanced to add support for mid- and large-sized observatory-class mounts (including 1100GTO, 1150GTO, and 1600GTO). More than just a support system; it is a modern, high-capacity masterpiece designed for the serious astrophotographer. This one-piece, "go-anywhere" assembly combines the rock-solid stability of a permanent pier with the rapid deployment of a portable tripod. Universal Mount Compatibility

Engineered to support nearly the entire Astro-Physics family, the Tri-Pier is built for heavy-duty performance.

The 8" (20.3cm) Configuration: Optimized for the Mach1, Mach2, 1100GTO, and 1150GTO mounts.

The 10" (25.4cm) Configuration: Designed specifically for the increased demands of the 1200GTO and 1600GTO mounts.
(Note: Not compatible with the 3600GTO).

Unmatched Versatility & Field Flexibility

Setting up your dream rig should never be a chore. The Tri-Pier features large, ergonomic hand knobs, ensuring your entire setup and adjustment process remains completely tool-free.

Need to compensate for rugged terrain? Simply loosen the three Leg Adjustment Knobs to articulate the feet and fine-tune the central column level. By adjusting the leg spread relative to the center, you can dial in the perfect height and achieve a level base even on sloped ground. Use the included spike feet for secure setup on softer ground.

Adjustable Height for Imaging, Visual, or Anything Between

The Astro-Physics Tri-Pier is a modern redesign of versatile work-of-art as well as a totally practical tool for the advanced imager. The one-piece assembly sets up quickly in the field and allows adjustment of pier height, leveling of the mount, and eases the process of polar alignment. The Tri-Pier 8" is ideal for Mach1, Mach2, 1100GTO, and 1150 mounts. The Tri-Pier10" is suited for the larger 1200GTO and 1600GTO mounts.

The practical height range of the pier is 42" to 45" (106.7cm - 114.3cm). Attaching the optional 6" (15.2cm) extension increases the height to 51" (130.5cm).

Versatility and Flexibility

The Tri-Pier is a breeze to set up and adjust. Large comfortable hand knobs make the whole process tool-free.

Simply loosen the 3 Leg Adjustment Knobs to spread the legs apart or fold them in. Move the legs in and out from the center column to fine tune the pier's height and to level the assembly if the ground is uneven. Then, re-tighten the knobs. The Tri-Pier's feet articulate to adjust to the terrain.

To change the pier height, attach the optional 6" (15.2cm) extension to the top of the pier. It’s that easy! The optional extension is useful for increased height when observing with longer refractors or targets at higher altitudes. When the extension is not used, it is stored by attaching to the bottom of the column, saving space and bulk.
